I had a situationship last year around July/August. Even tho I ended the relationship I still feel reallly connected to him. When we were together I had a dream about my late grandfather and he wasn’t too happy about the whole situation it seems. I took that as a sign and let go of the guy I was with. A lot of time has passed and I still feel really connected to him. As of recent I’ve had two really visit dreams about him. The first one was him meeting my grandfather, he was a bit apprehensive at first like in the dream I saw him answering his phone first but then he came to my grandfather, shook his hand and hugged him. They seemed reallly happy with each other in the dream. The other dream I dreamt I was kissing him and it was really loving and passionate. He was smiling at me and the energy felt really warm. What does this mean?
Dreams often serve as a conduit for our subconscious thoughts, emotions, and unresolved feelings. In your case, the dreams you've had about your late grandfather and the person from your past relationships can hold a significant meaning, especially considering the emotional connections you still feel.
Connection to Your Grandfather: Your late grandfather appearing in your dreams may symbolize wisdom, protection, and guidance from someone you trust. His initial apprehension towards your situationship could represent your own doubts or feelings of conflict regarding that relationship. Since you took the dream as a sign to let go, it indicates that you were sensitive to deeper, perhaps familial concerns regarding your romantic life.
Meeting with Your Situationship: The dream where your grandfather meets your former partner reflects a merging of your past and present emotions. Your partner greeting your grandfather with a handshake and a hug may indicate an acceptance or desire for integration of that relationship in your life. This action suggests that despite previous doubts, there is a part of you that feels positive about the connection, wanting affirmation from a paternal figure.
Kissing Dream: The second dream of kissing him passionately depicts a longing or unresolved romantic feelings that still linger within you. Kissing in dreams often symbolizes intimacy, affection, and emotional exchange. The warm energy and his smile suggest that you may be seeking closure or reconciliation with your feelings toward him. This dream reflects an exploration of your emotions and an acknowledgment of the affection that remains in your heart.
Persistent Connection: The recurring feelings of connection to your former partner could indicate unresolved attachments or questions about what might have been had your relationship developed differently. These dreams might encourage you to confront those feelings, perhaps exploring what it is that still draws you to him—be it love, regret, or a sense of incomplete emotional closure.
Reflection of Self-Discovery: Both dreams can also signify your journey toward understanding what you truly want in a relationship. Engaging with those emotions and reflecting on your dreams can guide you toward deeper self-awareness, helping you identify what you value in connections.
In conclusion, consider these dreams as an invitation to explore your emotions authentically. Engaging in self-reflection about what those dreams reveal about your past relationship can be healing and guide you toward clearer decisions for the future. If you feel comfortable, it may also be helpful to discuss these feelings with a trusted friend or therapist to gain even more insight.
